We are always navigating times of change but these current periods can feel especially turbulent and unsettling, not just individually but collectively.
If you find yourself in a place of uncertainty, navigating liminal space, or feeling lost, this episode is for you. It's a difficult place to be in, and I'm navigating one myself so know you're not alone in that.
Uncertain times often bring us face to face with our shadow, which can be disorienting, overwhelming, and at times painful, leading us to grasp for any semblance of certainty and stability.
It's a human impulse, one to be expected.
What we don't realize is that as we cling and grasp, our sense of agency diminishes more and more in trying to get ourselves to hold on to what used to be.
By reaching for certainty and resisting being in the void, we block ourselves from possibility.
How then, can we break free from these traps when paralysis sets in and seeing beyond the liminal space feels impossible?
I took this question to my ancestors and their response may surprise you because it certainly did me.
While we may be feeling tender during these times, sometimes being in the void is what provides the medicine.
I hope you enjoy this episode...it's a special one to me.
Thanks for listening!

There is an assumption that all associated with light in terms of spirituality is good.
But what if I were to tell you that "love and light" and being "high vibe" are being weaponized as a way to normalize harm towards others?
It may be a difficult truth to accept ; however, what most people don't realize is that light can be both divine and wounded, and for that reason, the latter tends to fly under the radar.
In this episode, Dr. Kristine Miranda delves into the concepts of divine light and wounded light, their manifestations, and how one can be used to support oppression while the other for liberation for all.
Colonialism and white supremacy have infiltrated the New Age spirituality space in the form of wounded light, but there is hope.
By using discernment and the practice of right relating to guide us, we can deepen into true embodiment and practice of love and care, and help mitigate harm.
These challenges can be a portal to discovery and maturity - one where we are called to claim and integrate our divine light and divine darkness, honor our wholeness, and rise to meet our sacred responsibility to one another.
In doing so, we open the door to possibility and contribute to the healing of our world.
*Note: This episode is a spicy one. Enjoy!

Reclaiming one's power comes from letting go of duality and embracing non-duality. This podcast episode delves into the significance of moving beyond black and white thinking and recognizing the interconnectedness of seemingly opposite concepts. By questioning the default conditioning of duality, one can reconnect with personal power, creativity, and agency.
Dr. Kristine Miranda explores the journey of embracing non-duality, sharing personal anecdotes and examples to illustrate the transformative power of shifting perspectives. She emphasizes the importance of being curious, observing with openness, and honoring the spectrum of possibilities between success and failure, good and bad.
By embracing non-duality, individuals can navigate life's challenges, find peace and inspiration, and unlock their limitless potential.

Ancestral connection brings with it an opportunity to expand your consciousness and world sense, both of which will impact your perceptions of the unseen realms, your experience of the world around you, and potentially your understanding of family.
As a follow up to the last episode on ancestral connection, Part 2 addresses the common sentiment of ambivalence about familial connection, specifically if there have been ruptures or if one is a descendant of folks with troubling histories.
While it can be challenging to acknowledge the troubles and burdens of your lineage, it is important to be reminded that there is goodness to be found in all of our lineages as well. It is in accessing wise Eldership that we can begin to help heal fragmentation caused by colonizatioin, ancestral trauma and intergenerational trauma within our families and communities.
The wisdom they provide is profound but it is the relationships we cultivate with them that can have the most heart healing impact.
May this relational tending be the begininng of your reclamation of your ancestral roots, practices and connections. May it support you in the rewriting of your lineages' narratives to reflect the power of repair and ancestral devotion in bringing healing and goodness to yourself, your family and the world.

For some, ancestral connection is a familiar familial, cultural and spiritual practice, and for others there may be a sense of complete disconnection from your lineage. Wherever you find yourself, know that its never too late and its always possible to deepen your connection with your ancestors.
To say its life changing would be an understatement. Exploration of your ancestral lineage provides an opportunity to connect to your larger family, to get to know and learn from your wise elders, as well as learn about the gifts, burdens, and history of your people. Each lineage brings with it its own medicine and magic and whether or not you realize it, it comes through you too.
Under colonization, family and community structures fractured, Non Western cultural and spiritual traditions were denigrated, and the earth, non human kin and unseen realms suffered; however, its your ancestral relations and connnections that can serve as a pathway to reclamation, remembering and liberation. Its in facing ancestral and generational trauma can we find personal healing, as well as provide healing for all of those in our lineage.
A better world is possible and within reach. With the backing of our ancestors and our ongoing collaboration together, we can rebuild family, creating community, and find our way back to one another again as human beings.

If you feel like the fight for collective liberation is weighing on you, know that you aren’t alone. That’s what I wanted to talk to you about today - how to be with and honor what is being stirred up for us at this time and explore ways in which we can move forward towards healing and right relating.
While it may feel like we are isolated or alone, we are not. This is how colonization has harmed all of us…reinforcing an illusion of fragmentation/ separateness and a forgetting of our connection to one another.
These periods of fear, devastation and uncertainty push our human bodies and our humanness to their limits. In knowing that and honoring that, my invitation to you is an unconventional one but I stand by it.
As a therapist, I’m a big believer in honoring your feelings; however, I think its important that we not get stuck in immobilization and hopelessness.
One of my Elders and teachers, Tita Leny Strobel, offered an antidote to hopelessness, which I share as a way for us to move forward together.
Take care of you and your heart, and trust.
In knowing that everyone is on their own journey, make choices that bring your mind, body, and spirit into congruence.
It is in being honoring of ourself and one another that we can all find connection again and return to a decolonial way of living.
